The pre school is led by a qualified Teacher who has over 10 years of experience working in our nursery and many more years working as a primary teacher in mainstream schools. The Staff ratio is one adult to 8 children and all staff have early years qualifications.
Activities are based on weekly planning so that children can learn at their own pace through play and activities which are varied daily to suit individual learning needs. These plans are based on information which the staff gather from written observations and record keeping. The information is then updated in each child’s individual profile. At the end of each academic year, parents and carers are invited to view these profiles and to have a more in depth chat about their child’s progress. At Gable House Nursery we value that parents and carers are a child’s primary teacher and that working closely in partnership can greatly influence how each child develops.
Academic and social development are encouraged through activities such as constructive play, messy play, group activities, computers, outdoor play, song and dance.
Within our curriculum we strongly emphasise personal and emotional development as being the key element to successful learning. Confidence building through role play, circle and discussion time allows each child to express themselves as individuals and teaches all children to respect and value their peers.
